English - Assistant Professor

Briar Cliff University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in English to begin August 2008.  PhD in English required for this tenure-track position.  Ability to teach general literature courses.  Background should include American Literature before 1900 and Global and/or Multicultural (ethnic) literature.  Candidate should be willing to teach freshman composition and interdisciplinary courses.  Evidence of excellence in teaching preferred.    

Nursing - Instructor/Assistant Professor

Briar Cliff University is invites applications  for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Nursing effective fall 2008. The University offers an NLNAC-accredited BSN program with a basic BSN, LPN-BSN, and RN-BSN options, and an MSN program with Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Educator specialty options.Primary responsibilities include teaching adult health courses and clinical experiences. Qualifications: A master’s degree in nursing is required with experience in teaching in BSN programs; adult health experience and doctorate preferred. 

 

Sociology - Instructor/Assistant Professor

 

Briar Cliff University invites applicants for full-time, tenure-track position of Instructor/Assistant Professor of sociology beginning August, 2008.  Primary specialization in deviance and crime required, with a solid history of teaching and research in the area.  Secondary area of emphasis open, but strong background in theory or research methods would be beneficial.  Ph.D. in hand by August, 2008 preferred; advanced ABD candidates will be considered.  Review of applications begins immediately and continues until position is filled.  The Department offers a B.A. in Social Research and is the home of the University’s Criminal Justice program.  The CJ program is based on a philosophy of restorative justice and emphasizes theory and research throughout the curriculum.  The Department also operates the Siouxland Social Science Research Center which provides the opportunity to do funded research.
